They author changed the storyline about Kail being Black Wing to that new character. We all knew it should be Kail from another timeline. I guess the author didn’t want to go that route as the manga got cancelled.

It’s kind of weird that this series got picked up for an anime production, when it was cancelled like this. It’s okay ending, although as others have mentioned I don’t think this was how the author originally planned on going.
