Under the Oak Tree - Chapter 127
Comments for chapter "Chapter 127"
You’d have to shut the flap of a tent opening pretty hard for there to be a slam .
He gets so angry when he’s protective. It’s adorible.
I mean.. Hasn’t she been doing that forever at this point? Despite his objections? When he says she’s doing whatever she wants anyway he’s right… She does whatever she wants gers scolded by him and he then begrudgingly allows it… Despite his demeanor he can’t deny her any wish.. He wants to protect her but he also wants her to be happy and that struggle make his character so compelling.. Just as her she’s strong behind her weakness, he’s weak beneath his strength..
Imagine she were do die.. He would Completly break apart.. Given how he’s portrayed he would lose Al reason and become a psycho
Duh … “show she possesses a will of her own?” She has been trying to show that for 20+ chapters.
Unfortunately, Riftan has mostly been not listening. A few gaffes from Maxi, but mostly Mr. Chowderhead not listening is the problem. An interesting side note, my therapist once said the #1 relationship problem is “unmet expectations.” These two have very different ideas about what a “wife” should be, and mostly neither one has communicated that very well.
Go Maxi!
Our MC is too naive. That princess is going to definitely pull something.

The princess is a manipulator.
Yes, Riftian is often overprotective and may try to bluntly impose his will on Maxi without proper communication, that’s wrong. But the way in which she attempts to twist Maxi’s arm into doing what she wants is so much worse than Riftian just directly saying no.
He’s controlling, overprotective, and irrational.
He has a terrible temper. (childish, abusive)
He treats you like a child. (helplessness, incompetence)
You have your own will (don’t need to care about your partners concerns/opinions).
and after all that talk about independence, she turns around and pressures Maxi into doing what she wants…
Maxi is oblivious ignorant/naive on many things (she has grown, but it still shows)
She knows Maxi is not the firmest or most confident on her opinions, only now learning to express herself properly.
She knows about her tendency to spiral in her insecurities
She knows that she longs to prove her worth, looking for acceptance and validation.
She knows that one of her fears is damaging Riftians image
She uses all of that to “guide” Maxi’s decision to joining her faction even if it means causing a rift
Doesn’t mean most of what she said doesn’t make sense, but her reasons and methods are the problem, she is playing with their relationship like it’s a political game to manipulate for her benefit, but that’s what you’d expect from a princess.
