This story is getting so interesting and makes me curious what will happen in the future coming chapters of what’s really going on because we know Val isn’t a good person either but it seems both of the organizations have different ways of handling things.

The sheer versatility of Particles, already makes it one of my favorite Abilities. It can be used for Sensory, Ranged, AoE, Close Range, Defense, and even Reinforcement/Support.

The irony of this story is palpable. It’s clearly being set up that there are two mirrored organizations.
Ember being the establishment organization using granting power to control people.
Spectre being the upcoming organization using restricting power to control people.
Both through controlling high tiers by limiting their access to power, the new weapon that neither of them have is ability augmentation, which Ember obviously had more resources to research, thus Spectre had to steal the data.
Even the characters are being set up to parallel between the organizations. The only difference seems to be that John or Sara could be argued to be distinguishing factor and wildcard, either because they just didn’t have one back when Ember was in Spectre’s position or that the role was filled by both/either of John’s parents.
Idk, this might be spoilers, but I haven’t read past this chapter, it just seems incredibly obvious and I wanted to put it into words. Good writing in some ways, but a bit too convenient imo
