I had a friend with cerebral palsy, and he was never able to understand how freeing it was to not be locked into the societal expectation of “being able to walk”. Just like Hanna, he was always discouraged by the chore of learning how to succeed without the special ability everyone else has. If only he had a friend to re-frame his situation for him
