No. She should have said. “Why should I? Since your son was so persistent on having me kicked out. Even acted smug about it. Perhaps if you have him beg and plead for my forgiveness then I might consider defending the Kingdom.” The Prince needs to be taken down a couple of pegs. Some humility would do wonders with his attitude.

what? a court magician and a king that said dark magic is not sign of evil and there’s a demon that wield other elements like so it’s perfectly normal to have dark magic? I’M SO CONFUSEDDDD, WHAT KIND OF GENJUTSU IS THIS

The best response to that would be something like “I’m also aware of the upcoming threat, but a heroine is destined to defeat the demon lord. If she fails, only then shall I step in.”
That would make it sound better… but I doubt that’s going to be her response.
