Hmm…not the greatest portrayed action scene, but this story isn’t centered on the action anyway. In the web novel, I thought he wore his helmet. Or perhaps he put it on after this part. I know he HAS a helmet.
I like Faust as a main character. He’s a badass fighter, but he’s only outstanding at fighting so it’s not like he can handle every situation and do it all by himself.
Nice bluff, but I would have went with “350” and not with 1000. For starters it’s almost a triple of the enemies numbers (prior Faust doing his… Faust stuff) and it is also an “odd number for unit count”. It won’t feel as much as a lie than 500 or a 1000.
Also I would have told everyone to yell as hard as they can. No, it wasn’t everyone, just those who stood on the hill. By everyone I mean all 64 (except Faust) and those who are still behind the hill even more so, in order to make it sound like an actual “350” head count. Right now it’s more of a “provocation” than an “illusion”.
