Dude… If he can move molecule, just making hydrogen peroxide would be a dangerous skill. If he can combine things inside the water throwing something with carbon and nitrogen into his waterball then manipulate the molecules…. Sheeesh…. No one can survive that.

If he can merge molecules into water he can split water into hydrogen and oxygen. If he splits enough at once he’s got a water torch and more than that he’s got a rocket or a bomb, depending on how he manipulates the water magic.

If you can freeze water…then you can boil water.
You could remove water completely from branches, and it would be easier to start a fire grinding two pieces of wood.
He only needs fire for light, if he can boil water.
Yep, you can use Ice to start a fire, by molding it in to a magnifying block of ice

He doesnt need quarts to start fire… he can literally use ice… but quartz is still useful.
