Only just struck me now but considering how the quest MC received was called ‘unfinished story’ it can be inferred that the system is there just to make ‘stories’ to entertain someone or something.
Villain is obviously a regressor or someone who has received info from the future considering everyone on his list he calls a ‘hero’ aka players that would have awakened later.
Wonder who the big bad is in this one, some fella really wants this world to fall.
