Not knowing what the ‘reward‘ is it’s hard to say. Having been in the military i can tell you the funding they give individual people unless you’re a high ranking officer is pretty crappy, especially if you’re conscripted into service pay can be utter crap.
The only thing she has offered is her ‘influence‘ through her connections, but that doesn’t lead to anything necessarily. And the job is effectively a leash as he mentioned.
