Solid tactic. You can’t fire at it, because it’s too close to the lead ship (went through it). Now the enemy can board it with a lot of troops. Even if at the end they have to blow the ship up, they’ll likely take out their target.
There are ways this can go wrong as now both ships have no shield (as they are connected), therefore the enemy ship is vulnerable. They just need a laser cannon from upclose to cut it in half, leaving the front section inside the ship. It seemed it has no weapons or just minimal armaments, as it was designed as a boarding vessel.
Also decompression will deal with a few enemy solders even if they are in spacesuits (sucking them out in space), but the rest has to be managed on board by the internal forces/defences. They have to go through blast doors, turrets and the crew, therefore it will take half an hour or more to actually get to where they want to. In the mean time the targets might escape, so they have to take the shortest route with the least resistance.
The fleet was being circled by unknown ships, so it’s likely they’ll start shooting the escorts in order to prevent them to provide reinforcements.
Again, solid tactic, but it depends on having an army fight another army. If they don’t account for unknown factors, like the mercenary team, which already f-cked a few of their plans up, then it will fail in the end, even if they manage to deal a great blow to them.
I would have another few ships on stand-by outside of radar range and send them in, in case things don’t go as planed.
My guess for the next chapers would be that he sends her maid on board to deal with attackers, while Hiiro cleans up around the ship, because he is a simple person. 🙂

I was going to assume that was more of a missile than a ship.
