was never a fan of this battle, cause it was played up to be a giant threat, only to die in half a chapter (even in the ln)

I’m going to be somewhat disappointed if all 70 Maxims of Maximally Effective Mercenaries aren’t invoked by the end of this series, by Hiro, his crew, or anyone in the story because they sure do invoke a bunch of them over the chapters. This chapter’s maxims include:

The space only contain void, meaning no sound can transmit through it. Yet they hear sound, meaning the crystal life form also shoot out something which carries the sound with it. That thing can go through battleship armor and no sensor can detect it. Image if that thing could do more damage than sound…. So scary.

Also how did the crystals figure out it was the Lotus that shot them? Suddenly turning in on the Lotus … meh whatever.
Also² that mothercrystal looks cheap as hell, considering the Novel described them tentacles to actually moving to try to hit Krishna.
Ah whatever.
