the author has these very profound thoughts and ideas but they miss details that make the story and the actions of characters make sense, like this is just bad. And if mc was innocent and didn’t have this ability, he wouldnt know anything that’s going on right now. So mc should just act like he doesn’t know what’s going on and do what he usually does. There is NOTHING they can do then, legally that is.
