Author, you keep using that word. I don’t think it means what you think it means.
=> Author says royalty, but it seems he means nobility. Well, to be fair, Europe’s nobility was so closely related that basically every noble had at least some claim to every throne in Europe.

Fun facts:

Fun fact 1: For a very long time, until the French revolution, every nobility in Europe mainly spoke French as first language, no matter over which country they reigned. If they spoke the local language at all.

Fun fact 2: Queen Victoria was German. (House of Hannover, that’s a city in Germany)

Fun fact 3: Like Putin claims to want to restore the Soviet empire of days past. Hitler claimed he wanted to restore the Holy Roman Empire of German Nations (which basically covered the whole of the European continent).

Fun fact 4: Trump now joined the two above. Aside Kim Jong wanting the rest of Korea, and China wanting the whole of east Asia. And while the former can’t, the latter is bidding it’s time. Should American be bound in a war against the rest of the NATO because they invaded Greenland, China likely will invade Taiwan, and grab whatever else it likes down there.

Fun times. We’re so close to another World War you need a feeler gauge to measure the distance.
