If they go by hair colour and narah having an agenda rather than loving the prince.. might she be an illegitimate child of the marquess ?
Might be why he discarded valdea so easily.
After all if his plan to seize the royals power is hinging on narah becoming queen, valdea ruining his reputation is minor.
It would be pretty smart if he says he only will make her legitimate after she becomes queen.
As a commoner she’s bait for the prince to better his image and not seen as a threat or having an agenda.
Since the crown is wary of the marquessate and then he pull and uno reverse card by acknowledging or worse..
He never does, has her poison the king enough to make him sickly and has her rule with him as a shadow power.

My take on this,
1 Valdea could be pretending to be Narah, or Valdea and Narah could’ve always been the same person
2 Narah could’ve been switched with Lessian at birth
It looks like Lessian is related to the Empress, and Narah is related to the Marquess. How that would work out, I’m not sure.
1 Lessian being related to the queen, is just because if she wasn’t, there would be no reason for them to mention the resemblence
2 Narah being related to the Marquess, that would explain her lifting up her family in the eyes of the prince. Also, they look similar, and it looks like the Marquess would strongly benefit if Narah married the Crown Prince
