I’m sorry that makes no sense, if rankings exist then obviously there’s people who rank low on the list, worst list is basically just the lists flipped around, you can’t have rankings without the people at the bottom and you can’t erase worse rankings without erasing rankings as a whole, makes no sense
Nothing different from the real world, status aka money is how people are viewed without exception to race and religion, if you are poor, all your opinions are invalid no whether right or right, Rich then even dumb ideas are clapped upon.
So basically if u are a person with disabilities ur on worst ranking 
Worst rankings is something we as humans and even animals will always use in a situation where there are sacrifices necessary those who are a liability will always be chosen first …that’s just how it is . It is one on the reasons we have survived until now and to say it’s unfair and to change it .it’s just childrens fantasy. 
Ngl this is stupid must of those people are somewhat successful to even afford to get on the boat which means they should have highish rankings so how did Luke a child with no influence or money get in the first round of boats!?!?!!?!?!
The author should have put her on the the last set of boats for recuse before the ship blew up to make it consistent.
Love this scenario, for all we know the “worsts rankings” and the flying island may be related on more than surface level, given how the island seem to be “elites judging people worth”. That would make Mc and Luke essentially chasing the same goal.
