Among the plotlines that annoy me the most, the “MC lost their power suddenly” arks are by far in my top 10. It’s usually a sign that the author wrote themselves into a corner by making the character’s too strong so they’re attempting to compensate for it by either taking away their power and making them have to work back up or putting on a temporary block so they can pad for time. That’s what happened after Dragon Ball Z when they made GT, Goku was soo powerful that they decided to hit the reset button on him and turn him back into a kid in order to balance things out and pad for time.
I’m not exactly gonna stop here, but I will be gritting my teeth through this ark.
