he doesn’t want to remain a larvae, and what he wants is not to just be a cicada, so what he wants is the process of transforming from a larvae to a cicada, what he wants to become is transcedent. He wants to carve his own destiny separate from a predermined destiny. He wants to become the continously moving higher transformation or growth. In reality, there are absolute limitations, and the possibility of growth in those limitations, and true meaning is obtained when dancing in harmony between both.

How did he pierce the ogres arm? Its already been established that he cant pierce its skin or muscle. He managed to pierce the leg, which is understandable given its of a different species, but the joint in the arm he pierced was still surrounded by the ogres skin and muscle.
