If you return evil with good it will make them feel even worse for what they did. Treat people they way you want to be treated, not the way the treat you. He has my full stamp of approval for that.

Rule #1 – treat others the way you want to be treated.
Rule #2 – if rule #1 doesn’t work, treat them the way they treat you.
FYI: This works. This also works amazingly well in romance, because if they treat you bad, it forces them too look at their own behavior (of course, an explanation of the two rules is required for that to happen.)
