It is time’s like this where bad writing ruins a good scene. There was no reason to make the hero this dumb. The writer could have gone with so many angles but he chose to make the antagonist and spectators all brain dead. The best stories have the best villians and this is a wasted opertunity. Once the protagonist wins here there is no more story tension so they have to rush to introduce a new threat to the MC or end the Manga. 33ish chapters in and the MC already has a full harem and revenge on the main villian so I imagine this Manga is on life support now.

Hero got oneshotted once and is on the verge of being oneshotted again… welp, they distanced him from the MC, so he’s 10000000% going to succesfully eat that life severing blob (life severing as in his plot and life will likely reach a dead end).
