So after this chapter, I just had to look it up, because I’ve played other Zelda games with Gorons in them (in fact pretty much every Zelda has them), and they never talked about Sumo.
Ends up, I was completely right to be skeptical, because the Sumo mini-game/feature was only ever included in Twilight Princess and referenced in BotW. But that’s not surprising when you try to force a culture reference on a fictional race that already has a well-defined feature: rolling. Remember kids, not every fat man is a Sumo wrestler.
