This is actually am excellent lesson for people who think this only happens in “stories” reality is good people do bad things. Although well intended many police want “the easy fix” that is to blame someone and the crime to “go away”.
This has happened numerous times just in the last year in every nation on this planet. Often people don’t want justice they want things to look like they are doing their job. Law enforcement people willingly incarcerate innocent people and for their personal convenience. This is more common than most think. False accusation is the most common form of criminal injustice throughout the world.
