This reminds me of an old TV series, “Stingray”. Protagonist drove around in a black 1965 Corvette Stingray, helping people with their troubles in exchange for a single favor marker, which he would one day collect. Over the course of the series, he used many of those favors not just to support his operation, but to help out his clients.
