In a small group like this it’s best to assign a group leader and set reasonable rules that everyone must follow and if you break these rules they need realistic punishments. No group would ever get rid of an asset like the MC in this situation though unless he put the group into danger which he wasn’t, he was just being realistic.

If I were in that sitch, with my children to protect? Those cops wouldn’t even have had to make the decision, or speak of it. He would have been SO dead, SO long ago. And the corpse out the back window, and measures taken to prevent zombification. First MC with common sense, really. He should take the better peeps, and find a way to portal BACK to the Fantasy World. And take lotsa weapons. And food.
This is a very rare turn of events. most of the time it’s MC trying to give the malicious person a 2nd chance or another character on MC’s side killing them before MC can intervene.
Why did he miss the opportunity to show the cops that the dead will turn zombies even without bite marks? All he needed for that is just to stay near the corpse a bit longer. No need to explain, the cops would see it with their own eyes.
