Oda might have underestimated or completely overlooked the vacuum that MC’s absence would create. You did great before MC joined, but MC created an entirely new level of stability felt by everyone in the group. To share with everyone that this pillar is now broken won’t mean their feelings will go back to how they were before they joined. They’ve gotten used to a new standard of comfort and they will expect the same from Oda, if not more to compensate for the feeling of loss and anxiety they must be feeling now.
MC overlooked this as well. You can’t underestimate the fragility of the human mind. The smallest cracks give room for seeds of doubt to sprout and proliferate.
If the MC really didn’t use the chance to show the Police guy that everyone is already infected and they come back as zombies if they die, I’m going to be mad. The MC is smarter than that. If he conveniently turns stupid for a second to set up a plotpoint i’m dropping this. But i really hope they just didn’t show the part where the MC teaches them yet. I really like this manga.
The police dude already failed to protect everyone by letting the gang member in and was going to put them in danger again by letting him go or imprisoning him for life, so maybe that’s not a very safe place.
lonelyness is hard, specialy after you spend time with ppl and start remembering what is to socialize.
this does not mean you will be closed to rest of them, but, it will make teh next human contact to become more distant, to avoid stablishing emotional attachments.
