This reminds me of a oldhammer story, of a knight with a squire, who visited a mansion to kill some nurgle cultists. the knight did not eat the food, but the squire did, and this corrupted him. The knight, stern and cruel, felt pity and sorrow for having to put down his squire, he understood that the boy would be hungry, but could not tell him about the dangers of the manse for fear that his mission and task would slip out.
