Also that seems like the father. And the curse might be to hide him from the weird evil angels.
Standard tropes would be that these ”curses” are the seals on his powers installed for safety reasons because you can’t have an unprepared child with transcendental god-tier powers. kind of like with the advanced theory off levels in RPGs
