rival is stronger. we can kinda equate rival’s mana growth to mc releasing curse/seals. rival has his family swordsmanship and mc has teachers. kinda equal. both have monstrous talent for different reasons. rival us on his first life and mc has 10+ more years of experience. but the fact that rival fought mc, who would still be in his prime to a draw…it emphasizes rivals true talent and seems limitless. mc definitely needs rival on his side.
I honestly expected this, remember MC has like 8 curses left on him as well so hes at a crazy disadvantage, if he one by alot he would be too op.

these dumb.n.iggas in the comment don’t realize the mc can’t use mana yet, that’s why the blue sword dude was able to catch up to him in terms of mana. Y’all r overhyping the mc when pure swordsmanship lit has its own limits 
The mc who toyed with this guy in the beginning while he got one of his power unlocked from 9 + new sword and teacher technic still draw with this guy wtf this written…

if he can already instantly copy non mana attacks does that mean once he can use mana he will be able to copy those attacks
