I think Arondale absorbed MC’s attack and ended up emanating a similar mana/aura signature that of MC. So the doppelganger somehow mistook AronDale for MC since its eyes are closed and just sensing and seeking for that energy signature thus ended up attacking Arondale instead of MC who probably depleted some big portion of his powers during fight and drops from the doppelganger’s sense-radar
So does past mc just only seek out the strongest opponent or smth
It’s kinda underwhelming that he’s basically fighting the same since the beginning of the manhwa. He’s supposed to have gained all these amazing powers or whatever but during the fights it doesn’t really feel that way.
