That said, how retarded do you have to be to not protect the ONLY ONE water source that had not dried up? 2 weak soldiers and they can just leave for long enough and far enough for the MC to just casually drop a discretely heavy object into the well. The simple fact that 99% of the army was far away from the water source is a strategic mistake, you want to stay close to it so water can be distributed faster and more efficiently.
