In manga, when the person in authority wants the mc to do or tell them something, why do they always say, ‘I won’t force you, but…’, when what they should be saying is ‘I can’t make you, but…’ ? The first is like a threat and implies they could force them if they wanted to, and the second is a request. They’re hardly ever capable of being able to ‘force’ them to do anything.
