what does the money even matter? cant mages make scrolls? does his book not tell him how? if they cost alot cant he make and sell them?
go to an area with weak mobs and start farming xp… gather herbs using your map?

You were doing pretty good so far, author, until now. You have your MC casually try to change Charlotte’s level. It ends up miraculously working. This revelation changes his entire situation and what is the next thing you have your MC do… Have him be satisfied with this accomplishment and not even try to figure out it’s limitations. The first thing anyone in his situation would think of after this revelation would be to see if adding a few nines or zeros to his HP changes it. Then levels, then how much gold he has in his possession, etc. You don’t give any good reason why he doesn’t try any of this, not a hint. Perhaps the Gods would take notice yada yada, but you don’t even do the bare minimum to insinuate that. Not through an MC monologue or some other means. This is one of the sloppiest Macguffin (is that the term?) introductions I’ve seen. Am I glad I’m reading this crap for free.
