Epsilon and Upsilon are both Greek letters, and it’s hard to be sure which one was meant here. Someone translating the sound might think that Y was closer, but someone translating the letters might be confused because Y and U are historically both used to translate the letter upsilon. Also, the magiscule Greek letter upsilon looks like the English Y (that’s where the Y shape comes from). But most writers don’t know that upsilon exists, and mean to choose epsilon. It’s a puzzle that rarely has a sure answer.
And trouble finally catches up to the MC.
This chapter is going past the web novel’s ending. The light novel must have extended the story apparently. The “lolicon” guy wasn’t killed in the web novel. It didn’t say what happened to him.
