Did the author decide to change the story even a few chapters through? Did he ask her to come with him in the first place? And not just two chapters ago, didn’t he promise to see her safely to the exit.
Does the MC have the memory of a goldfish?

So the MC asks for her help, knowing these guys are going to try to kill him, then changes his mind in the fissure. Then makes a promise to take her back to the exit, than breaks his promise a minute later… I mean, come on author… lol
