Translations have been weird for a while, especially the German names for the techniques.
- “Spin and Slit” -> “Spinnenschritt” -> “Spider’s Step”
- “Steinnibel” -> I assume this should be “Steinnebel”, which would be “Stone Mist” or “Mist made of Stone”

If they are afterimages then he is all of them. Shooting fire at one may not immediately work but he would then fly (he seemed to fly) into the fire to maintain the image.
