the commander is literally that one guy in codm who uses a sniper and a spear.
I think I get why the commander told him about not following orders blindly.
Hebprolly became commander himself by manipulating everything around : once Lukas can figure out intention of rebels and empire, he can struggle his way to not be ‘replaced’ just like that. If guard commander likes him, that’s explains why he wasn’t told anything in those different “safe” missions , to learn this
