I like how the characters are grey, they are not good, but nor bad either, each of them are imperfect and represent a way of life that ulrich can observe and grow as a character. He may follow his faith but not be blinded by it, he may follow it’s desire but not at the cost of others etc… There is no real good or evil and he is no exception but it make his journey a very entertaining one to watch.
