That isn’t a fossil it’s bone, it’s possible that some creatures from the Jurassic and other periods managed to survive extinction, such as the mosasaurus or other predators only for it to travel in via a river, only for said river to vanish and it to die and get frozen. Either way I love the worldbuilding that goes into this.
