Might be a reincarnation of an ancient necromancer or evil god. The lord might’ve caught wind of some necromancer talking about a prophecy of their own, but was caught with a curse of silence, preventing him from being able to reveal his findings. He then caught any suspected child and attempted to identify the evil spawn through magic and torture, and since the child has only just reincarnated they have yet to accumulate any magic/energy of their own. 
But that’s just a theory…
