why did we need to see the mother die, I would have rather the ending had been them fighting the demon god, but still a good read

Honestly I’m glad that they finally finalized/axed this one, should’ve happened after the end of the heavenly dragon demon. The “imperial” arc was pretty much irrelevant, as MC had already reached his pinnacle an the writer was not interested in surpassing it.
Sorry is this the end or what? We get a thanks from the writer, his mother dies which we never needed to see and then a cliffhanger at the end??? very odd.
