So if someone can double check me, he visited his hometown to confirm that the guy he saw was actually his father?

This kind of writing destroys manga. Started off with some decent progression, they showed a world map a couple times and implied some kind of greater scale to things…there had been a search in a far off land for the Door and oh HEY NOPE THE DOOR IS ACTUALLY RIGHT NEXT TO THE KINGDOM THE WHOLE TIME. Not even gonna mention that Shin almost immediately gathers all of his power back and they drop the world-building and monsters almost entirely to focus on a harem off to fight the final boss not even 100 chapters in. I knew this was bound the happen when he casually beat the heavenly dragon that wiped out an entire elite army, even after setting that up as some massively distinct monster. Not even getting into the fact that it was a problem to kill it in the first place because it benefited the border nation’s monster control…but hey it would be crazy to actually try to maintain some kind of -structure- to a story…just drop a few more panels of girls flirting with the MC

I had to take it out of context
