There’s not point in making the MC go through hardships without creating any bond with the reader first
Really good read so far, except for the monocle.
You know how this cliche story could’ve been a bit better ? Introduce some conflict on the character. An actual conflict he must surpass. Not just “I’m all powerful now”.
A good conflict I’ve seen is like with the Rance scenario, where the Demon King is one of the strongest beings around, but in turn the one who becomes Demon King is filled with blood lust and desire for destruction ( as this Manga claims the DK is ), but ACTUALLY is. In Rance Miki is so bloodthirsty when she turns into the DK that she almost kills her lover, and barely can hold herself back from killing everyone else. And she is actually a GOOD Demon Lord, like one of the most pacifist ones.
