hold on, so the queen confessed on her own, doesn’t that mean that he could still use the potion to clear hilderg’s name? Like even if they still go into hiding cause they don’t wanna deal with sh*t anymore surely it’s still better that when their caught instead of a witch hunt it’s a praise fest?

the good guys just didn’t play their hand for too long and the queen didn’t really confess, it’s just implied she’s the perpetrator and she just backed off instead to avoid the consequences if her servant does speak.
and it wasn’t the right time to bring up the Hilde/sun witch’s issue while she’s backing off.
