FMC ? i know it’s shoujo, but i see man in chap 1
This is such a hassle to read if you read by chapter release, half of the manga is just backstory. Its gotten really boring with just backstory, wait for alot of chapters to be released before reading. Its really a shame, it was quite enjoyable when you weren’t spammed with backstory for chapters on end. 3.5/5
Dont pass this up because of people complaining about backstory. There’s more than 60+ chapters of the story in the present with 30 or so chapters of backstory towards the later chapters.
Of course people are on the edge of their seats and yearning for more which reveals itself in fits of anger and impatience, as seen below my comment….. Whats happening right before the backstories is something that we all want to see resolved so it would piss anyone off. But thats ONLY a testament to how beautifully well written and substantial this story actually is…..If it was a bad story, they wouldn’t be so furious about returning to the present in this story. Isnt that revealing enough?
Its absolutely one of the most mature, introspective, fleshed out, comprehensive and well written Manhwas I’ve ever read…and I’ve read many Shoujo, Shounen/Seinen.
A story about how War affects all sides. How death begets death begets more death… and how resentments beget later resentments…………..
Every side of a conflict considers their enemy to be monsters. But are they really? And what led them to that extreme? This story plunges the reader into the inner conflict of interesting and well rounded characters on both sides of the long-standing war; who’ve all lost something along the way…………….
Can they be forgiven? Can they find peace? Will the cycle of death and war and suffering continue and for how long?
And can a Love manifest between two people who’ve lived and warred on two opposing sides of such a long standing conflict?
That’s only the tip of the iceberg.
Its an authentic and substantial story, unlike most superficial stories today about tower of babels, becoming a god through gaming powers and isekai redo shoujo romances.
Those who are holding off to wait until the backstories end, read ‘Reminiscent Adonis’. Its similar in some ways and also one of the most well written Shoujo Manhwas as well…….. Although it shares many of the usual tropes that “redo shoujo romances” tend to have, unlike the complete authenticity of “Blinding of the Setting Sun”….Its tough to come across a Manhwa that is as introspective and comprehensive as these two (Blinding Sun and Reminiscent Adonis) but they’re certainly out there. Although they’re few and far between.
Around Chapter 50 it goes through 2 or 3 characters backstories. The FMC being the longest one by far but her story is absolutely needed to understand her and the story in general.
While i agree its a bit too much, i dont believe it takes away from such a fleshed out and authentic story as this.
So yes, it drags a bit much and even at 90+ the FMC and MC are still working on the “Shoujo Shuffle” (my coined term for the fmc and mc going back and forth in a subtle love dance until finally they come together as lovers. Hence, the “Shoujo Shuffle” !!! Lolol)
But anyways, its not worth dropping or missing out on this one.
I consider everyone’s impatience as a clear cut example and reaction to expecting so much from this story, because its so well done. Honestly it seems like a compliment. They’re all yearning so much for the story to continue its former pace in the present.
Dont miss out on this. And check out Reminiscent Adonis as i suggested before if you appreciate this one.
Hope this sheds some insight and a different perspective as to why so many people are being ao critical and impatient with this gem.
Half the story is literally just backstory… :cross:
Seeing some of the reviews I’m gonna hold off on reading this for now. Gonna let the chapters release, and I’ll probably take a look.
If this was a game it would literally be a backstory simulator at this point, it’s so frustrated to read when it’s just backstory after backstory. Imagine waiting for several weeks just to read another backstory lmao.
Was really good and then they decided to do long flashback after long flashback after long flashback. What flashback takes 10 chapters?!
It’s a pretty good story till it stops dead in its tracks for 3 separate character backstory’s in a row. It destroys the passing. Sure it’s building character, but it needed to be spaced out more. Losing interest since I haven’t seen the main plot in the past 25 chapters.
Nice, the name made me blindly wanna read this.
whoo that was a longe binge read. This story is definetly worth it! Great artwork and character development. At times it may seem slow but it allows the MC and side characters to have a fleshed out background which in turn allows for greater development of both characters and story. Also for those against flashbacks, I do apologize but they are plentiful during this story. But do not be predjudiced against it, they work out to be quite well.
Overall I give it a 4 out of 5
Let’s see what I’ve stumbled across said a not very wise man once, he proceeded to die at the hands of bandits
it’s like “I unknowing helped The witch that Killed My Parents, Destroyed My Country and made my life hell”
Hmmm, looking for a Romance/Action adventure that a male can also enjoy? I dont mind the Thespian-like posh, aristocratic behaviors when done right………………………..,…………………………………………………,….,…,………….Something like Reminisce Adonis. Even though that was Shoujo, i still really enjoyed it. Any recommendations that are similar to Adonis that a male would enjoy? …………………………………………. Finding an actually decent “romance” in an action/fantasy/adventure series for males is like finding a needle in a haystack. There are a few, no doubt, but im pretty sure ive read them already.
Now im desperately looking through Shoujo but most are…. Too feminine? Yeah………
….
You do realize this is a romance right?
@chapter 31 and 32… Kaia is pissing me off, she killed his parent(two innocent doctors) and now she is acting like he did something wrong just because of her guilt, what’s painful is that once he finds out her real identity, his life will be in danger and he wouldn’t be able to defend himself because he is weak… I just hope the author says he trained and stuff, later in the story… because how does he even plan to defeat a lady who is strong enough to wipe out an entire country on her own, when he at a very young age didn’t understand the basic defence skills
