Isagi forgot the scoring machine he was a few chapters back. He managed to forget himself to make his team score.. where did that machine go ???

lowkey I think that the author is going to finally like, make the blue lock players more relevant, cause like in the Japan U-20 vs Blue Lock game, yeah everybody had their moments but it felt like 90% of the game was focused on the big attackers like Sae, Shidou and Rin, the U-20 World Cup could be a way where everybody is constantly getting noticed
A bit of future prediction: Japan will probably still lose to France, but still manages to stay in the World Cup. Isagi may enter a slump, due to the pressure as the core of Blue Lock and got Hugo’s words messing his head – resulting in some backlash, perhaps Ego will have Isagi to sit the next match out.
Then, Kira and/or Nagi will become the unlikely ally to help Isagi re-discovering his roots.

Blue lock is normally chaotic, full of unexpected plays and evolving at all points with everyone following their own desire to score. Now it feels calculated, straightforward, too mathematical. That’s why they are easy to read. Karasu is the one on the right path. Isagi is being emotional right now, that’s why he keeps making mistakes.

Now thats blue lock. For some reason , everyone started playing for the team again in this arc. Karasu is on the right path , there need to be conflicting ideals , different plays that are so far removed from what everyone on the field is thinking of.
