I know because I’ve experienced multiple different extremely high level competitive esport environments myself and this is something I hated about every mentally stuck teammate I had that refused to learn to adapt and be either first or second on the fly. Which was also why I threw away multiple potential esport careers. Tons of people even in the best of tournaments still don’t get this at all and constantly try to switch people around to try to create a “good match”. But they don’t get it at all. They’re chasing stability and consistency in an ever-changing and extremely contradictory(at first glance) situation. That’s why they keep constantly failing 1 or 2 steps short of being the best. In the end if you want a great team every single member must be willing to commit to endless adaptability and constant practice but they don’t.
They get lazy. They get complacent. They get delusional. They get arrogant.
They fall into all kinds of mental psychological pitfalls that affect even beginners.
