Everybody working for all 3 groups are doing it for either loyalty, money or their life – and everybody is responsible for their own choices. Mitchell’s sacrifice was her own choice; Fitzgerald just gave her a way to pay off a debt.
And so far, both the Mafia and the Guild have done a lot of saving their own members and giving them second-chances when they fail too. Like a lot. Funny how forgiving they are, really.
…btw: isn’t razing the city going to just get the entire country’s military targeting the guild?
