So, Dostoyevsky and Dazai memorised all their conversations and assigned words corresponding to different symbols. That makes sense; but they also each make up the code as they go along and make the other person guess out which words fit which symbols? Uh, no.
That doesn’t make much sense because the symbols are randomly assigned to that set of words; thus the symbols have no structural reference frame like a language or alphabet. This means even if these two people know the set of words, they each have no idea how the other person sets up the correspondence of symbols to words. There’s no key to reference a code if they’re making it up on the spot (and guessing what symbol matches what word as they go along).
