I think that the author is being more real than they needed to be. It’s nice, since they could have made him really OP and made it feel forced.
I’ve seen the idea before in stories that use mental download spellbooks or another plot mechanism to instantly download abilities into a character’s mind. Just because they can use a thing or just because they have a relatively large about of potentially usable power, that doesn’t mean that they have the tactical or experience based memories or muscle memories of someone who trained to use those skills over time.
Here Fulio (Banaza) may be powerful and have the potential to do a lot of things, but that means nothing when he really to this point hasn’t practiced to refine his use of them. Most opponents to this point were pretty point and shoot. Bigger targets got more overwhelming magic, but still pretty brute force. Can’t say about the crafting magic side, cuz we’ve gotten little detail there, but for fighting this felt correct. He was a Merchant! Not a mage. Not a fighter.

I like how they didn’t show her naked like how many other bullshit manga do, but actually had her skin melted of like how it realistically would. Also ex-demon King is a fucking Chad.
