His goal was to get the girl, not to kill the beast palace master.. so yeah.. mission accomplished..
Severely weakened the beast palace which in turn will now enter a power struggle as different factions will try to take over, destabilising the whole region and in the end the cult will swoop in and clean house…
Why are people complaining, real life situations are always messy, MC was right to gamble and to avoid double front battle
This would be too much anticlimactic if the big bad guy died just here and there…
