After brutally beheading the demon that murdered his parents and displaying its severed head as a warning, the young boy “Yi-Se” becomes feared rather than praised. Shunned by the villagers and branded a monster for his merciless vengeance, he finds himself with nothing left to live for.

I don’t want to place my hopes super high for any new series, especially this one as it’s only at chapter 5 of writing this review but it seems really promising if the gruesomeness we were shown is kept throughout the story.
It’s called Demon Slayer and the story honestly seems like it could follow the same general route that the Demon Slayer manga did but the contrast between that series and this one is obvious from the first chapter.
Short Summary: Our MC is introduced to us, a ten year old (now) orphan, who just lost his entire family to a “specter”, the demons of this world, which he managed to survive against by hiding as he witnessed his family’s massacre. He immediately steeled himself to exact revenge on this specter by selling off his family’s residence and buying information about the specter that killed his family, being told information on what its weakness is and taking it upon himself to kill said specter, which he manages to do and decides to stick the head of the specter he killed at the front gate of his family’s home as a sign of his revenge being fulfilled.
The village he lives in no longer sees a boy, instead they come to the conclusion that no human could be possible of pulling off such a feat, especially a child at that. They place a bounty on our MC as they believe in their minds that he’s a specter, which results in a specter slayer appearing- this specter slayer ends up realizing that he’s an extremely talented prospect after asking our MC how he managed to take down the specter.
Yada yada, the specter hunter is revealed to be of another race and takes our MC to their realm- the dokkabei realm, which we learn isn’t normally accepting of humans, then it’s revealed that the specter hunter who took in our MC is actually the top dog of said realm.
There’s more but this is basically up to chapter three at this point I believe, which is when I started to actually get interested in the story more so I think you should give it a go as well if you’ve read this far.
